Tribal One ensuring safe installation of manufactured housing

Tribal One is ensuring that states have minimum installation standards and operating installation programs for manufactured housing under a contract with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

HUD selected Tribal One to manage its Manufactured Housing Installation Program in participating states. The program ensures that trainers of installers planning to work in HUD-administered states are registered with HUD and that installers in those states are licensed by the department.

To manage the program, Tribal One is developing comprehensive installation guidelines, overseeing installer licensing, providing targeted training and conducting monitoring and inspection activities. Tribal One also reviews regulations, provides outreach services and establishes compliance monitoring systems to ensure adherence to federal and state standards.

By managing the installation standards, Tribal One is reinforcing HUD’s commitment to the safe installation of manufactured homes and improving the well-being of their residents.
