Tribal One Rebuilding Grand Lake Entrance at Rocky Mountain National Park Grand Lake, CO
In the wake of a devastating 2020 wildfire that destroyed the entrance office at Rocky Mountain National Park’s Grand Lake entrance, Tribal One has been contracted to lead the reconstruction effort. This critical project will restore full operational capacity at one of the park’s busiest gateways, improving visitor access and reducing wait times.
Work began in Fall 2023, with Tribal One completing earthwork and the concrete foundation before winter to avoid delays caused by frozen ground. After a planned winter exclusion, construction continued in April 2024.
The project scope includes demolition of damaged concrete, construction of a new entrance office, and upgrades to existing kiosks and entrance lanes. Additional site improvements will enhance traffic flow and visitor experience. Tribal One is coordinating closely with the National Park Service (NPS) to manage traffic control during lane closures, ensuring minimal disruption to park operations.
Until now, NPS staff have relied on a temporary office trailer to manage entry operations. The completion of the new facility will allow full staffing of all kiosks, significantly reducing congestion and improving efficiency for the millions of visitors who enter Rocky Mountain National Park each year.
