Tribal One upgrades telecommunications for USACE Northwest Division

North Bend, Ore. – Tribal One Construction (T1 Construction, LLC) was awarded three U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) contracts to address critical information technology requirements in the Corps’ Northwestern Division office and Portland District offices in Portland, Oregon.

The Corps’ Northwestern Division office oversees activities in the largest USACE division, which is 2,000 miles wide and covers 14 states, 48 Congressional Districts and more than 90 sovereign tribal nations.

“Tribal One is pleased to be entrusted with this critical technology modernization project for the Army Corps of Engineers,” said Brady Scott, CEO of Tribal One Development. “Having an effective means of communication and information transfer is vitally important for a division of this size and Tribal One is committed to building a technology infrastructure that will meet the division’s needs well into the future.”

Under the three contracts awarded by the USACE Portland District, Tribal One will build the communications infrastructure for up to nine telecommunications rooms in the Portland District offices. Team members also will upgrade an audio/visual system for the Division HQ building.  For the third project, Tribal One will design and build a distributed antenna system to improve multi-carrier cellular coverage across 89,000 square feet and two levels of the Portland District facility’s parking structure.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division (NWD) is one of nine U.S. Army Corps of Engineers divisions. NWD oversees Kansas City, Omaha, Portland, Seattle, and Walla Walla Districts, comprising of nearly 2,000 miles and enveloping 14 states, 65 Congressional districts and 107 sovereign tribal nations. The Northwestern Division is organized to manage its districts’ civil works activities based on river basins rather than state boundaries. Its primary civil works missions encompass flood control, navigation, hydropower, fish and wildlife, water quality and irrigation, recreation, and disaster response. Within its jurisdiction are 77 dams and reservoirs, 29 hydropower plants, and 1,600 miles of navigable channels.
